A truly unique experience, this NIGHT ride includes games, music, and refreshments! Come join us and see why this event has become a family favorite!

Our location will once again be South Seminole Middle School
and the option to ride halfway for those who may not wish to ride the full 10 miles.

Who can ride?

Anyone 10 years and older may ride solo. Children younger than 10 must be in a trailer or on a tandem. All children under 16 must wear a helmet. All participants must be able to maintain a speed of 12 mph. Flashers on your bike and helmet are recommended for this NIGHT Ride. The route can only be completed with an official group escort, so please give yourself ample time to prepare and arrive well before starting time.

‘Tis the Season for Giving

As the holiday season approaches and you search for ways to spread cheer, consider the families of New Hope for Kids. Families already taxed with astronomical medical bills or the death of a loved one find it difficult to provide gifts for their families.

Join us in helping make this holiday season a happy one for these deserving families by donating an unwrapped gift when you come to the bike ride!

Display Your Spirit!

Add to the evening’s festivities by adorning your bicycle with brightly colored lights, garlands or other holiday decorations. Be creative, but remember, think safety first!

Food Drive

Thanksgiving ‘Give A Gift Card’ Drive

The families in our grief and wish programs are often struggling financially due to the death of the main wage earner, or because of the mountain of medical bills associated with the illness of their child. Would you like to help these families enjoy a special meal on Thanksgiving Day? You probably know someone – – in your family, a co-worker, neighbor, friend, business associate, corporate office or maybe a group of individuals who can help sponsor the New Hope for Kids Thanksgiving ‘Give A Gift Card’ Drive.

During our 2013 Thanksgiving ‘Give a Gift Card Drive’ we will gather grocery store gift cards instead of canned goods for the families in our programs who need a little extra help. (We distributed food gift cards to over 300 families in 2012!) You may purchase a gift card of any amount from Wal-Mart, Publix or Winn Dixie and drop it off at New Hope for Kids Center for Grieving Children now through November 21st or click below to make a donation to help purchase gift cards.

Toy Drive

New Hope for Kids Holiday Toy Drive

As the holidays approach, New Hope for Kids begins the important task of filling Santa’s “BAG OF HOPE” with gifts for the kids.
New Hope for Kids’ goal each holiday season is to help provide gifts to the children and families in our grief and wish programs. In addition to the struggles caused by the economy, many of our families are also dealing with financial burdens caused by the death of their wage earner or because of medical expenses due to illness. Please help us make their holiday a memorable one!

The day after Thanksgiving will be the official start of our Annual Toy Drive! Each year we hear from parents that their holidays wouldn’t be the same without our help. Your donations will bring smiles to very special children as they feel the joy of the season made possible by your kindness and generosity. This year we will provide gifts to over 650 children!

How You Can Help
You can contribute to the happiness of our kids and bring the magic of the season to them by participating in our annual toy drive. Visit designated local Panera stores (locations below) where you will find trees with special New Hope for Kids gift request tags. Donations may be taken, unwrapped, back to the location from which you got your tag, or may be brought to our future New Hope building. We prefer to let parents and caregivers wrap their children’s gifts, so please bring your donations unwrapped! Gifts can be delivered to The Future Home of New Hope for Kids Building, 544 Mayo Ave. in Maitland during the following times:

  • Monday – Friday, December 9th – 13th 10:00am – 5:00pm
  • Saturday and Sunday, December 14th & 15th Noon – 4:00pm
  • Monday & Tuesday, December 16th – 19th 10:00am – 7:00pm

Have you ever thought about having a toy drive for New Hope for Kids with a group of friends or at your place of work? It can be a fun way to celebrate the season and help bring joy to the kids in our grief and wish programs! Perhaps you’d like to decorate a tree with our gift tags or place a collection box in your office. You can even schedule “Santa’s Trailer” to come to your business where employees can help “fill Santa’s trailer with hope!” Please send an email to Rhonda@newhopeforkids.org to learn more about this fun opportunity!

Disney Supports New Hope for Kids

Disney Supports New Hope for Kids

May 12, 2009

Hundreds of charitable organizations applied, but only 30 were chosen, and one of them was New Hope for Kids! In their efforts to support the well-being of the children and families of Central Florida, The Walt Disney Company selected New Hope for Kids to receive a donation of $25,700. Executive director, Dave Joswick, and board members, Pat Michaels, Elizabeth Peele and Dr. Todd Husty, met at the Center for Grieving Children on May 12, 2009 as fellow board member, Rick Allen, presented the check on behalf of Disney, where he serves as General Manager of Walt Disney World Resort Operations.
