We Give Thanks to Our Wish Partners!

In March 2015, the end of Cornerstone caused a loss of $50,000 for wishes. In May, wish expenditures were capped. Any additional wishes would need to be fully financially sponsored. This has thrown New Hope’s Wishes for Kids into a transition period. Since the loss of this revenue, God has answered prayers and new wish sponsors are in place.

Twenty-two wishes had been completed by the end of June. Since then, eight more have been completely sponsored through the generosity and compassion of corporate and individual donors. Now a total of 30 children have received their wishes. We want to say thank you to the following sponsors:

  • VASQUEZ FAMILY GOES TO NEW YORK CITY!
  • WHEELER’S TRANSPORTATION, ORLANDO
  • HILTON DOUBLE TREE SUITES AT TIMES SQUARE, NYC
  • JET BLUE AIRLINES
  • CALIC GROUP, Orlando
  • PUBLIX SUPERMARKETS
  • STATUE OF LIBERTY FERRY TOUR
  • CITY TOUR BUSES NYC
  • DAVE & BUSTERS
  • NYC EXPERTS TRANSPORTATION
  • AMERICAN MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY

A special thanks goes to Carol Redding, NHFK Wish volunteer, for coordinating and doing extensive research and planning for this outstanding wish. Also a big thanks to Pat Michaels who was instrumental in getting the JET BLUE airline donation.

Greg Warren, GMAC granted a wish for Marc, heart transplant recipient, for a Portuguese Water Dog and training. Joining was his granddaughter Nicole and coworker Sirena. Marc is smiling ear to ear with Sirena.

Jorge received his wish for a specialized bicycle provided by One Step Closer, Freedom Concepts and the Universal Foundation.

Another wish was totally sponsored by the Calic Group, Orlando for Logan’s birthday cruise with Mickey Mouse. His mother said, “Words cannot express the gratitude and the enormous need for this in this family right now.  Logan is SUPER excited – as are his brother and sister. We have all become stronger and better people throughout our recent difficulties and especially in dealing with Logan’s personal journey, but thanks to New Hope for Kids, we all get see his wish come–a trip that marks this family’s healing and our renewed hope as we continue forward. “

Sixteen UCF Cornerstone teams pulled together to help grant 16 wishes this year. We miss the compassion and energy shared with our New Hope’s kids. They made a huge impact that cannot be easily duplicated.
