Our 12th Annual Art of the Vine was held at Fields BMW in Winter Park on April 12, 2013 and judging by comments from attendees and reports from the staff, it was a great success. This always popular fundraiser netted over $208,000 for our Center for Grieving Children and Wishes for Kids programs!

In addition to delicious food, wine and martinis offered by fine food and beverage establishments from our community, guests enjoyed exploring over 100 silent auction items and even participated in some friendly competition as the bidding came to a close. Always a hit, the Loria Brothers entertained the crowd with their acoustic renditions of classic rock from the 60s, 70s and 80s. A professional auctioneer brought his high energy banter to our live auction which featured exciting items such as original art, wine, as well as trips to Colorado, New York and more. There was even a Flight Training Experience for 4 offered by JetBlue Airways that included tutoring followed by an hour-long full flight simulator experience! But perhaps the highlight of the evening came when the lucky ticket was drawn in our annual Drawing of Chance for a brand new BMW 128i. This year’s winning ticket, number 751, belonged to Pam Levin of Altamonte Springs. Although Pam had been at the event earlier that evening, she left before the drawing took place. The phone call telling her she had won the BMW was one she’ll never forget!

Our sincere thanks go to Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Brio Tuscan Grille, Tolla’s Italian Restaurant, Tim Webber’s Special Events and Catering, Panera Bread, Michael’s Catering, Serve All Catering, Jake & Micky’s, Budweiser/Wayne Densch, Terlato Wines, Southern Wine and Spirits, Ollie’s Public House, the Tap Room at Dubsdread and TPJ Wine Events. Each restaurateur and drinking establishment served samples of their fine cuisine or cocktails which provided an appetizing adventure for our guests.

New Hope for Kids thanks our hosts, Fields Auto Group and Fields BMW of Winter Park, for their loyal and generous support of this premier fundraiser. Tony Martin, Art of the Vine committee chair, and his team were supported by the New Hope for Kids Board of Directors, dozens of volunteers and the New Hope for Kids staff who all worked to ensure the event’s success. Art of the Vine has become a yearly tradition for many. For those who have never attended, we’d love for you to join us next year!
